Chante DeLong: Hey Hey Chante (Pillage)
Every day I meet individuals who create what they deem, worthy of presenting to the large plateau that is the world, primarily the Internet. Yes, I just defined the profession of a blogger, I believe it gets a bit more complex. You see, the blogger is the untamed journalist, the writer who neither has or believes in delivering constructed messages, or information confined to the judgment of others. No, the blogger is the pillar of truth, we control the middle ground between commercial and “indie” but for the most part, history is made with an honest approach and honest soul.
Chante DeLong. I ask you to read that name one more time. Okay cool, well Chante contributes to the blogosphere in more ways than one. Chante’s contribution creates opportunity for her own future and others. I fell victim to Chante’s allure, in the privacy and secrecy of the business email system, receiving an email that offered congratulations and prompting my wandering eye to her newly created blog: Hey Hey Chante!. The blog was merely painted with gritty images and writing that illustrated Chante’s interest and favor in the arts, fashion and the “culture” of life. Knowledgable of Chante’s interest in the arts, I inquired if she would be able to cover my the AfricaInAmerica: Art Collective Exhibition, in which she replied gracefully: Yes! Blessings.
Shortly after, (three weeks) Chante and I enjoyed a glass of vodka and delved into what she wanted to gain in this blog pursuit: “Ultimately, I just want to change the world and its functionality” words with intent, great enough to start an army, I nodded and appreciated the will in her voice that depicted not only a sensitive heart but also a soldier of human…soul, welfare. Self-proclaimed as a “higher” individual I asked if this heightened her intellectual level or all around survival as a woman of color.
Once a depressive spirit, Chante encourages others of the troubling disorder to wish for more than the elimination of their depression, but also use the personality alteration to their advantage, you do so with an intense level of positivity and driven attitude of change. So much is gained from an idea of intricate design, but even more is acquired from the simple construction of a sentence on a dot com. In the end Chante’s drive to empower women, and their spirit within the entrepreneurial community seems to be the primary objective, as this will help fuel her overall philanthropic desires. Closed eyes, rarely see black, that’s just the standby as your mind races to the ideas you hear mumbled under the ideologies and images present as you view the world. I closed my eyes and listened to Chante, her words spoke softly and I gained texture from her intellect, drive and passion. There is a true connect between the fingertips and the action you put forth in the world, we just do so with blogs. Say Cheese Chante!
